(Boise, ID) – Homedale football coach Matt Holtry and Kuna softball coaches AJ York and Josh Mason are the latest recipients of the Commercial Tire/Cooper Tires “Be True to Your School” award.

Holtry’s nomination lauded him as “the definition of a player’s coach” who is helping the players become good young men as well as football players. Mason and York both receive high marks for their patience and for inspiring the Kuna players to be the best people they can be as well as players.

Each coach will be invited to be a guest of the Idaho Steelheads this season to be recognized on-ice for the award. Throughout the season, coaches will be invited to be recognized at Steelheads hockey games and Idaho Stampede basketball games at CenturyLink Arena.

The “Be True to Your School” program allows local fans to nominate a deserving high school athletics coach for recognition. The winning coaches will be invited to a game at CenturyLink Arena to be honored and the athletics department at the winner’s school will receive a $1,000 donation from Commercial Tires and Cooper Tire. In all, $20,000 will be donated to area schools.

To nominate a coach for the award, visit the Commercial Tire website and click on the “Be True to Your School” logo. Fill out the nomination form and click “Submit Form.” Once you’ve done that, your coach has officially been nominated.

Commercial Tire and Cooper Tires are working together with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads and NBA Development League’s Idaho Stampede on the “Be True to Your School” promotion.

Ticket packages for the 2011-12 season remain available, including pro-rated Season Tickets for the remaining 32 home games, starting at less than $275 per seat. Partial-season ticket packages are available for as little as $150. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or visit www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.

Note: Matt Holtry's story will air later this week.
